But it turns out, Jeanne is actually the nun present that is saying prayers and once the forces of Paradiso appear to collect Bayonetta's body, she engages in combat and dispatches them one by one. In the end after the fight with The Creator, Bayonetta appears to have perished from the re-entrance into Earth's atmosphere and a small funeral is being held for her, but Jeanne is nowhere to be found. But once again, she returns in the end to help Bayonetta defeat Jubileus by summoning Queen Sheba to destroy her. She was successful in freeing Bayonetta, but was pushed off by a shockwave, produced by Jubileus's statue as the goddess began to awaken, and floated off into outer space and was presumed dead. Jeanne comes to rescue Bayonetta, using her motorcycle, witch time and debris left by the rocket lifting Jubileus's statue, to get onto the spacecraft and power through hordes of angels, doing their best to halt her. The jewel broke the spell that was cast on her, freeing her mind from his influence. Not only that, but it is shown that at some point, Jeanne was abducted and brainwashed into helping Balder achieve his goal of awakening Jubileus, the creator, so that a new World could be born. It is revealed later on that she's not actually dead, and that she used the jewel to protect herself from the explosion. She tells Bayonetta to "stand" and to "not fear her fate" but then is presumedly killed by an explosion of two rockets that struck the building they were on. Jeanne is defeated for the last time, and it is revealed that she and Bayonetta weren't always enemies, but actually close friends long ago in their childhood. In the present day, she is allied with Balder and the forces of Paradiso. Fearing that the Left Eye of darkness would fall into the hands of Paradiso, Jeanne sealed Bayonetta into a lake, locking away her memories and putting her into a 500 year slumber. She picked Cereza( Bayonetta) for her fight, but she was defeated, however, before Cereza could be declared the victor, their duel was interrupted by the Witch Hunt.
